High Pitch going to jail?

Most of you know about HPE's latest scam, but here's a little background:
He asked Dino from Ferrara's Cafe to cater a party that his sister was having in NY. Dino's place is close to 100 miles away. The food was delivered, and HPE also had the caterers pick him up along the way to bring him to the "Family Party" where the food was to be delivered. Eric paid for the food with a bad check, not just from an account with insufficient funds, but with a check from a CLOSED ACCOUNT. He was confronted on the air with this, and he solemnly swore that he would pay his debt in full, the following Monday becuase he was going to LA to do something in Tabitha Steven's new movie. Monday came and went, and as expected Eric paid nothing, even though Erik was paid in cash for his work in LA.
Dino then extended one final offer: for HPE to sit in a "dunk tank" outside of the restaurant, where passerbys could pay to take a shot at dunking him, with all proceeds going to charity. This would absolve Eric of the $650 debt without him having to put his fat fingers in his pockets, and a charitable organization would benefit from the gesture. Eric chose to completely ignore the offer, even though this was an easy way to get his fat ass out of the trouble he had gotten himself into. IMHO, it was very honorable of Dino to extend this opportunity for Eric to make good on his fraudulent actions.
The plot thickens:
Dino has aked me to post this portion of an email he received:
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN,
I AM WRITING IN REGARD TO A FUNCTION I HAD CATERED EASTER WEEKEND OF 2005. ERIK BLEAMAN ALSO KNOWN AS MR. HIGH PITCH ERIK FROM THE STERN SHOW WAS THE MIDDLE MAN. I GAVE ERIK $700 IN CASH, $650 FOR THE TOTAL OF THE FOOD AND A $50 TIP.
IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO MY KNOWLEDGE THAT HE SEEMS TO HAVE WROTE 2 BOUNCED CHECKS, WHEN IN FACT I GAVE HIM THE MONEY FOR IT. THIS MEANS HE POCKETED $700 DOLLARS AND KEPT MY MONEY. I DO NOT KNOW IF HE HAS REIMBURSED YOU? OR IF THIS IS EVEN ALL TRUE. IF IT IS I NEED TO A STATEMENT FROM YOU . I AM GOING TO COURT TO BE REFUNDED THE $700. IF I AM REIMBURSED- I HAVE NO PROBLEMS WIHT PAYING YOU THE MONEY THAT I ORIGINALLY THOUGHT YOU HAD RECIEVED.
PLEASE BE IN TOUCH ASAP.
Wow, so it turns out that this was not a family party held by HPE's sister, it was just part of a pretty well thought out scam by someone who we usually shrug off as partially retarded. Let's look at the implications...
Eric knew someone who wanted a family Easter party catered.
He used his false pseudo celebrity status, and the good name of the Stern Show to procure a caterer.
He was given the cash, including a tip which was to be paid to the caterer
He pocketed the cash, and wrote a fraudulent check from a closed account.
He was given several opportunities to make amends, and ignorantly chose to snub the offers.
This is real bad for him. He may think that he would never be prosecuted becuase he would be deemed mentally incapable, but there is proof that he orchestrated a pretty elaborate premeditated scheme of deception, and then wrote a check from an account the he KNEW was closed. I think he will have a hard time convincing any judge that he was not aware of what he was doing, or that this is the result of some misunderstanding.
Dino had informed me that if he does not receive payment in full of the $700 in cash that Eric received by this Monday, he will file official charges and I'm quite sure that Eric will be arrested. He also has made an effort to contact other people who have been scammed by Eric, and this will show a pattern of deceptive activity that will clearly indicate his guilt. I've spoken to a few knowledgeable peolpe about this and they all agree that this will unquestionably result in jail time for Eric.
Eric, I don't want to see your fat ass stinking up our fine NY jails that my tax dollars pay for! Don't continue to be a fool. Pay this man before Monday night. Borrow the mony from some other sucker if you have to. There is too much solid evidence for you to worm your way out of this! THey have the checks, the testimony of the woman who paid you for the catering, and tape of your confrontation on the air where you acknowledged that you knowingly paid him with a check from a closed account, and promised to make immediate amends.
You deserve to be in jail, but I don't want to see you there, I want to laugh at your fat ass as often as possible. Cabbie is in jail and he is no longer funny. Learn from his, and your own mistakes!
