Katrina victims: HELP NOW!!!
One of our shrine members, uzplayer, wanted me to get this message out:
----------
Mike Church and Jay Thomas are both New Orleans natives. Jay Thomas actually broadcasts out of the Mike Church studios when he's out there. I have listened to Jay Thomas numerous times out of the Mike Church studios in that area.
From my understanding, (i'm a big fan of Mike Church.. Dude 1372 (George in Jersey in case if you listen) the offices of Black Hat Ink which is where Mike Church broadcasts from is in tact. His offices are on the other side of the lake which is actually higher then sea level. His home though.. Well, we'll have to see what happens. According to his site (www.mikechurch.com), he is going to tour his home parish (similar to counties or boroughs in the north) and file a report. Keep a watch for it.
Also, his company has set up a Paypal account to accept donations. Visit www.mikechurch.com for more information on how to donate your money.
I know that 142 is a conservative channel, and I know that people usually have different views on things. But lets put those views aside and focus on what really matters. We need to focus on helping our own countrymen rebuild their lives and unify towards the better good for society and humanity as a whole. Don't focus on what the people like FOX News and CNN are saying and help the people who really need the help.

We here at HowardStern.com want to do what we can to help you help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Here is a list of links to get you started.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency has a good guide for how and what you can donate. It also has a good list of accredited relief organizations so you can be sure your donations will go where you want them to.
Here are a few:
The American Red Cross
The United Methodist Committee on Relief
Episcopal Relief and Development
The Salvation Army
Go to the ASPCA if you want to help the stranded pets and other animals.
Catholic Charities

And don't foget about Jerry Lewis this weekend.
