More Stern talk from Billy West!!
In my opinion the best Billy West material was on the Howard Stern show. Through the news your ability to adlib the person Robin would discuss was just amazing.We may all remember Leona Helmsley, David Dinkens, Jackie voices to name just a couple out of hundreds.Billy this work sounded like you were having so much fun.
Billy West: I did have a lot of fun but it became less fun when I found out that stories were spreading about how I was a fraud or puppet in regard to my performances.As in,''how is this guy able to do what he's doing?'' There was a time 11 years ago that a friend of the show was answering back to ''pro-Billy'' posts at this alt.Stern fansite.It was his job to tell everyone that I had to have everything written for me and I couldn't be funny by myself.That I couldn't ad-lib.Why didn't he ask me before he had to talk about something he didn't know--how to make millions of people around the world laugh with stuff he thought of? I don't remember him being in the room when I was performing on air.Or when I was perfecting ''the gift'' 24-7 in my room through childhood and my teens.I'm going to be turning 54 so this was a long time ago with NO ONE'S help.Believe me I wouldn't have done very well ''alone'' in the world if I depended on prompts and page 12 of the ''ad-libs'' on the show.As a matter of fact,wherever I've gone in the entire country for the last 11 years--to hear a majority of Stern fans tell it (and I am not fabricating this)--that I took a hefty portion of the funny with me when I left.I didn't mean to... but why would someone spend time to take me down a peg? I am a good guy and
all I wanted was to make people laugh.Mission accomplished.Then and now.

The sex jokes and strippers on the Stern show are as much about pushing the envelope of societal norms as they are about smut for the sake of smut. It's all about getting a reaction. And it works. Like it or hate it, here we are discussing it.
Billy West: The reason that stuff worked for me -now that I look back is that I got to SEE the girls.The guy on sunrise highway didn't and It was the next best thing for him.All the intellectual women I knew just thought is was funny because they knew that all of these girls came in of their own volition whether it was to be humiliated so they could plug something or-that they were just into it.They weren't degraded by HS and company.You degrade your self if that's the filter were looking at this through.I knew how everybody that lived outside of New York would do the horrible long commute in the morning.It was bloody blue murder.This show seemed to fit the bill for most of the demographic audience.It's what they wanted.But,like I've said before it's commonplace nowadays.Even nationwide.Howard always seemed like a progressive guy to me and he knows where he needs to go to do anymore innovating.
Was it Jeff Goldblum in ''The Big Chill'' that said something like,'' the only
reason anybody does anything was to get laid?''
