February 28, 2006 -- CBS/Infinity chairman Les Moonves is about to launch a $500 million lawsuit against his departed superstar Howard Stern, claiming Stern breached his contract by failing to disclose the details of his new deal with Sirius Satellite Radio while still employed by Infinity. The first batch of winter 2006 Phase One Arbitrends was released Monday by Arbitron, and, based on the results, CBS Radio's WFNY (92.3 Free FM)/New York and KLSX (97.1 Free FM)/Los Angeles have a difficult challenge ahead in attracting morning drive listeners to slots once dominated by Howard Stern.

American shock jock HOWARD STERN is facing a possible $500 million (GBP294 million) lawsuit, for allegedly breaching his contract with US broadcasting giant CBS.
CBS/Infinity chairman LES MOONVES is determined to sue the radio superstar, insisting Stern's failure to disclose the details of his new deal with Sirius Satellite Radio, while still working for Infinity, amounts to a substantial breach.
