The Review of the Stiletto by Joe from Superfansonline.com

The Stiletto 100 Specs
October 8th, 2006 by Joe

The Stiletto 100 has recently been released so I thought I would look up the specs and compare it to other devices currently on the market. Use this review to help you decide whether or not you want the Stiletto 100.

The Stiletto 100 allows for portable reception of Sirius Satellite Radio. You have the option of using the satellite feed or a wi-fi connection. It also allows you to take your personal music library with you. Overall design and battery life seem great but once you dive into the actual specs/features the device starts to fall apart.

The Bad Stuff:

I’m going to assume that many NYC Sirius listeners commute via subway. The satellite link will not work underground and I don’t believe that the NYC subway systems offer wi-fi. So the Stiletto’s radio feature will not work during your subway commute. This also applies to any location that may not pick up the satellite feed. Your option is to turn on the wi-fi feature but you may not find a free or open hotspot.

Storage is another problem with the Stiletto. It only offers 800mb of space for your personal music library. This seems way to low considering the iPod Nano offers 2gigs minimum. Another problem you will encounter with your personal music library on the Stiletto is that any music you have purchased from iTunes will not work due to compatibility issues. These two storage issues may or may not be a problem for you depending on how much music you have and how you obtained it.

Considering the $350 price tag and above problems you may want to wait to see if Sirius produces a second generation which corrects some of those problems.
