Make me Laugh contest underway at the Shrine

As most of you I'm sure know, I have a very advanced sense of humor. I feel most of the time on these message boards that I am Howard Stern surrounded by a bunch of unfunny Scott Salems that is how advanced my comedy is. I get an ocassional laugh now and then from something one of you Scott Salem's post but the truth of the matter is it is very rare. I have decided to have a contest from now until March 1st. I will give $10 to the person who either makes me laugh the hardest or who makes me laugh the most. I am not sure exactly which is more important. If you make me laugh so hard that I shit my pants that could be a win for you, but at the same time if someone has me laughing and farting ALOT, they could get the prize.

The contest begins now. I will release the assholes early to give them a fair chance.*

January 26, 2008 -- Scores manager Harvey Osher left a Manhattan court in handcuffs yesterday to begin serving the first of four weekends in jail for tax fraud at his two strip clubs.


He was sentenced to one month of weekends at Rikers Island, five years' probation, and mandatory payment of back taxes for admittedly lying on state tax forms.


Prosecutors say Osher, 40, of Matawan, NJ, and Scores owner Richard Goldring, 38, of Watchung, NJ, failed to pay taxes on $3.1 million in skimmed revenue. Goldring is to get five years' probation on Feb. 26.

Sirius/XM merger very close?

XM (XMSR - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr) and Sirius (SIRI - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr) climbed Wednesday on speculation that U.S. regulators are very close to granting approval to the merger of the two satellite radio broadcasters.

According to a headline on Briefing.com, the buzz suggested that the Justice Department and the Federal Communications Commission could have a decision tonight. The Web site didn't list any sources for the rumor.

Some merger watchers remain skeptical.

"We do not anticipate a decision tonight or in the immediate future," says David Trout of M&A Researcher. Trout was among the first deal watchers to point out that the regulators were in no hurry to start the needed merger review last year.

The proposed $4.6 billion deal is awaiting regulatory approval from antitrust lawyers at the Justice Department, as well as from consumer advocates at the Federal Communications Commission.

Observers say the highest hurdle for approval is convincing antitrust officials that satellite radio faces formidable competition from conventional radio and new devices like Apple's iPod.

Company representatives declined to comment on the speculation.

Sirius shares were adding 13 cents to $2.78 and XM was up 41 cents to $11, bucking a selloff in the tech sector Wednesday.

and it still continues... so johnny has given rutro emails between me & him to post as if they are somehow going to embarrass me or make me look like a liar. since they are all out of order and missing huge chunks. here's the gist of it.



Johnny asked me a bunch of times to come out to LA. KC would call and tell me how I need to meet this guy and we're gonna make big money. blah blah blah. I kept telling him I couldn't. it just wasn't practical. he had all kinds of talk about business projects and for awhile I just blew it off.

he had a bike he wanted me to give away to promote his company. he offered it several times and I kept telling him I didn't have any reason to give it away. when we did our big giveaway, I got back to him and said I finally got the perfect reason to give away the bike. he said he'd get it to me in a couple weeks so I could bring it around and get people to sign it. the contest started and we still didn't have it. not even a photo. he'd keep telling me it's in the truck, it's in this city, you'll have it tomorrow and nothing. ah, we had to change the brakes and it's gonna take a couple more weeks. I'd be like what happened to you already shipped it days ago?

I finally found a good excuse to head out there and see what he had to say. He had kept telling me he'd fly out the whole family so when Jenna turned 18 I figured what better time to make the trip. we'd go hear his shpeal, get to spend some face to face time with him, and see his operation in person. Most importantly, I'd be able to get pictures of the bike we were giving away.

he has KC get the tickets. days before the trip & there's no tickets. I don't even know if the trip is going to happen. day before the trip, still nothing. it's late the night before and I'm like, where are these tickets already? what time is the flight? I'm pulling my hair out with this nonsense. I finally get the the stuff and can go to bed. by the time we get to LA the next day, johnny had fired KC. KC calls me while I'm getting the rental car to tell me not to trust johnny and to be careful. i'm like, oh great

We get there and there's no bike. there's no store, there's no garage. there's nothing. just his apartment. I was really disappointed. a big part of why i was going was to see the prize bike which he stressed was there and just getting finished up. there was no good excuse why it wasn't there. he did have some older bike that we got to check out but he explained how the new ones were all different.

we talked about his business ideas and he had some very cool watches. he explained that he wanted to design clothes & jewelry with ralph but wasn't very specific about any of it. it actually sounded like something ralph might be into. he wanted me to pitch the idea to ralph next time I saw him but all the details were foggy. I could never get specifics out of him so I wasn't sure how I was supposed to pitch anything but we had a nice trip to LA and the least I could do is show ralph his stuff.

we had a very nice trip. the hotel was nice. johnny took us out for dinner. his friends were nice. it was a real good time.

when we got home I had several opportunities to see ralph but he'd never send the stuff. it was always, I sent everything yesterday and it wouldn't come. this went on and one and on. it was really aggravating. by now i was disappointed because I had starting thinking how well this could work for ralph and how much he'd enjoy a ralph clothing line. i finally told him, look, I'm going to be with him for a couple of days at this wedding. get me the crap before then & I'll show it to him then. he got all kinds of ideas about sending me watches & jewelry for kimmy & I to wear at the wedding saying how he'd deck us out so everyone could see his brand. I said, OK sounds great. I mean what the hell, the watch was pimp and I'd love to have one. he asked if i'd be able to show it to Howard and I said I severely doubt it. I was going to be at the birthday party though so if ever there was a chance, that was it. days before we were leaving and he never sent the stuff. it was like every other time. I'm sending you a big box of this that and the other thing. then no box

then he calls me wanting to know what kind of jewelry Howard wears because he'd like to send me something to give to Howard for his birthday. it's the day before the trip! I gave him my best guess. when it came time to leave, there was still nothing but I sent it. in the rental car in florida on the way to the hotel I get I don't know why you didn't get it. i'll send it again. I'll send it to the hotel. it was ridiculous. nothing ever came. when i saw ralph i mentioned the stuff but without having it in hand it was just talk. I wanted to do the guy a solid but it just wasn't happening. IMO, he missed his chance.

from home when the contest was over, we still didn't have the bike. I picked the winner and still nothing. It was the most unprofessional mess ever. it was soo late by the time I got the thing. I had been apologizing to the winner for over a month. then I couldn't get johnny to send the paperwork so she could get it registered or the disclaimer that he wanted me to have her sign. I finally had to make up my own disclaimer and give it to her without any kind of registration. she was very nice about the whole thing but i felt really bad.

then the fallout happened about his hangout thread where he felt I disrespected him by moving his thread to the lounge with the other hangout threads. at this point it was very clear that I needed to never try and do business with this man again and after his call to Howard bitching about the thread and my LA trip, I was told to steer clear of him.

I didn't have much interaction with him since then other than the occasional phone call. I did ask him for the name of a jewelry line he had mentioned before that he thought kimmy would like. somehow he's turned that phone call into helping me setup a clothing store.

basically, it's been a headache. it's a shame too because he was a nice enough guy. his son was cool too.

The blog reader also included the following which are supposedly email exchanges between Mutt and Johnny about Mutt's trip to Hollywood that was apparently paid by Johnny Fratto. Did Mutt also receive money from Sirius for this same trip? That is what True Fans of Stern are now asking. And what about the missing bike?

Still haven't heard back from johnny and I don't expect to at this point. for those of you just tuning in, let me recap. So much has been deleted you might not be up to speed.

the fratto group of internet mobsters with way too much free time have declared war on the syndicate, another group of internet mobsters. they used to work together but the Fratto group has split off and wants to squash the other. they wanted me to take their side in the dumb fight. since I wouldn't get on their side, they decided I must be on the bad side. it couldn't possible be that I don't give a shit what you queers are up to. (I have no interest in being in and stupid internet board wars) it's boiled into some dumb, we're a better site than SFN, nobody is there & everyone is here, we're the new great site, yadaa yadaa yadaa. :roll eyes: I hope they had fun. now they have a plan to lie to Howard claiming I was involved with something I'm not in an attempt to make me look bad. It's really the same stupid board war crap we've seen from a many many websites. it's many of the same players all rallying together to say fuck Mutt & SFN.

Fratto swore to me that he wasn't doing any of this and never would. he's shown his true colors. He asked for a truce and for me to take down threads here at SFN which spelled out what he was up to which we did and then he continued to attack me for the rest of the night after I went to bed. He spent hours attacking me & spouting off all these same lies.

when are people going to realize that nobody cares about fights on the internet. people not on the net think you sound stupid. step away from the computer and take a break. Looks like bigfanbigfan is at it again, this time posting Mutt's and Joey Boots the cocker's phone numbers on Eric the Midget's webcam. Has Fratto and company finally seen enough and ready to embrace the Howardshrine family and the True Fans of Stern or will everyone kiss, and suck, and make up once again.

Rumor is that there are talks already underway between Mutt and Fratto to try and resolve things before Tuesday's live show.

So the Johnny Fratto Social Club used SFN last night to declare some gay e-mob war against the stern syndicate and SFN. Yes, the fake internet mafia is fighting and it very very gay. before you all go pointing fingers and making accusations, here's what I know.


first we had people playing cappo here in Johnny Fratto's Social Club thread with ETM & Johnny. It got way out of control and got very childish. I was very supportive of Johnny through it all and lets face it, you can never make the midget happy. it finally took a big shit when Johnny made a tearful call to Howard about how we don't respect the social club thread. Johnny got all mad at us and was in talks with Balloon Knot to setup a new website better than SFN where people would respect his thread.

then ETM made his famous "you know what to do" call and a different group of people started photoshopping ETM into mob movies. since they were already doing internet radio shows, they adopted these graphics for a new website to promote their stuff, thus the Stern Syndicate was born. SFNers immediately mistook them for the people from the Fratto thread craziness and to this day they still take heat for what the kids playing e-mob in Johnny's thread did.

Now some people felt that having two different mobs playing here on SFN was too much and wanted me to pick sides. I told them all to stop their gay internet war crap and just worry about enjoying the show. I don't care what little subgoups you guys stick yourselves into, it's all good with me and I'm certainly not going to pick a side.

The real trouble started when these internet radio shows wanted SFN's support. I may not have the whole timeline perfect but this is how I know it. Back in the day a guy I know as King Diamonds who also goes by Tech9 said he wanted to do SFN Internet Radio shows. Boots & Rogny were into it so I told him, look I don't know crap about internet radio. You seem to know whats up. Get things going on a small scale but DON'T use my name. When it's ready, I'll check it out. We can use the SFN servers to host & stream whatever it is to do these shows. Even if I need to add a server, i'll do what ti takes and I'll support / promote them. Zolar was looking for a new place to do his show anyway and had talked to me several times about it. I figured if we could get things setup, there could be a bunch of spin off radio shows and I could support my friends. I put Joey Boots in charge of it and the first report I got back was that they had bought the domain name SFNRadio.com and were already using it. Boots & I gave the guy shit and told him to get my name off of that. I think Boots decided he didn't want anything more to do with them or lost interest. Right away there were additional problems with SFNers crying to me about how King Diamonds is fucking them over and wants all kinds of money from them. There was even some nonsense where King Diamonds hi-jacked the Miserable Men website and wanted money from them. The whole thing sorta shit the bed. Dino & King Diamonds went separate ways and Dino fixed things up. He picked up where the Diamonds kid left off and setup a place for the SFNers to do these shows. it's been pretty smooth since then.

Once they got up and running, we started supporting them like I had said we would. Then a sub group broke off and called them selves smackyshack. I could care less, we'll support that too. the more the merrier kind of thing. The weren't using my name as I stipulated and I was happy to help them. One chick got a little spam happy plugging her show but other than the occasional fight with Boots, it's been ok.

Then the King Diamonds guy teamed up with Johnny Fratto to do the same sort of internet radio thing. You know it know as the JFSC. Thanks to the midget, it's gotten alot of attention. Several of the Syndicate people have jumped ship and went with them. This new group includes the people that hacked SFN destroying the Stern history saved here, broke into Joey Boots' computer and hacked his AOL & Paypal, made death threats to me, Joey, & Dino, posted the SFN staff's cell phone numbers for everyone to see, called in a bomb threat to my charity Halloween party, and god know what else. Basically, they aren't friends of SFN and have way too much free time to play on the internet. I've talked to Johnny and he's sworn up and down that none of this was him people. I've given them the benefit of the doubt up until now.

So why am i posting all this now? Rutro, the admin from the JFSC called me last night to brag about their latest attack in a very smug whatcha gonna do about it buddy kind of way. I was under the impression that he was a friend, evidently not. Man some of you get crazy on the internet. The midget isn't boycotting SFN, he's trying to kill it and he's found help. These guys have gone way too far with their gay board war bullshit. I don't want to hear anymore, it wasn't me or my guy crap. i don't need calls from my friends vouching for the people who are doing this crap to me. I've let it slide for way too long.

We're stern fans and I've done nothing but support their website here on SFN & on my show. I even gave them a couple plugs this week. seems that hasn't been appreciated at all.

When I spoke to Johnny this week he said he's got nothing to do with that website other than he let Tech9 use his name. I told him then that I'm hearing through the grapevine that the JFSC is going to take down SFN but he assured me that wasn't true. So we have one of two things. Either Johnny knows and is to blame or his people are out of control and they are making him look bad. Either way it's not good and I gave him advance notice so he could put a stop to it. I called him last night but still have not received a call back.

I try to get out, but they suck me back in.

Tom "almost as famous as Howard Stern" Chiusano steps down

JANUARY 18, 2008 -

After 23 years leading K-Rock (WXRK-FM), CBS Radio’s Rock station in New York, Tom Chiusano is stepping down as vp and general manager. His last day will be Jan. 25.

Over the years, Chiusano became almost as famous as Howard Stern because of the number of times he was mentioned on the Howard Stern Show when it was carried by CBS.

“I’ve had an unbelievable run with CBS Radio having worked with the biggest and best names iin the business,” Chiusano said. “And as proud as I am of the legacy I will leave behind, I’m equally enthusiastic about what the future holds.”

Chiusano will continue to work for the station in a consultancy role.

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Paul Turcotte is leaving his post running corporate sales at Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S., the publisher of magazines such as Elle and Sound & Vision, and quitting print entirely to become senior VP-director of advertising sales at Sirius Satellite Radio, Mr. Turcotte said Wednesday.

Sam Benrubi, who has led advertising sales, will remain at Sirius reporting to Mr. Turcotte, where he will oversee ad sales for "The Howard Stern Show," and "Howard 100" and "Howard 101," the two 24/7 channels dedicated to all things Howard Stern.

Going, not leaving
Mr. Turcotte called Sirius a "cool and interesting" opportunity. "This is not so much about me leaving as much as me going," he said. "Hachette's been phenomenal for me. This is just a good opportunity to join a growth company, so here I go."

Sirius is waiting for Federal Communications Commission approval to complete a planned merger with XM Satellite Radio that would create a single satellite-radio provider with more than 14 million subscribers. "Honestly," Mr. Turcotte said, "Sirius' situation is at the point with subscriptions that they've got enough scale, and there are some real advertising opportunities there."

Defecting to digital
With the move, Mr. Turcotte joins the ranks of magazine pros who have defected to digital media, a group that already includes Jack Haire, Eileen Naughton, Stephen Colvin, Atoosa Rubenstein, Mark Golin, Michael Caruso, Jimmy Jellinek and John Lumpkin.

Before Mr. Turcotte was named Hachette's senior VP-corporate sales and marketing last March, he had been VP-publisher of the Hachette Entertainment Group, which comprised Sound & Vision and the now-defunct Premiere. He previously had been publisher at titles including Men's Health and Yahoo Internet Life.

A Hachette spokeswoman said the company will fill his position shortly. "We hate to lose Paul," she said. "He's so creative and an excellent marketing and sales talent. We wish him the best, and it sounds like this new job will be a real challenge for him."

Mr. Turcotte's last day at Hachette is Jan. 15; he assumes his new post Jan. 22.

Tell me about your thoughts on the new Sirius deal and what went into that decision.
Actually, my loyalty has to lie with Sirius at this juncture. I’m very excited about the Cox deal. It’s been a great, great thing for me to be able to come back and become a commodity within terrestrial radio. Howard Stern in particular and Tim Sabean really stuck their necks out for me a couple of years ago when I was dead in the water. If it wasn’t for either one of them, and particularly Howard, I wouldn’t be in this position to be able to have some negotiating power, and go back to regular radio.
It was just something that was a no-brainer. I have a loyalty to Howard. I may not even be working with Howard maybe one of these days, but I’ll always be grateful and I’ll always be phenomenally loyal to that guy. Howard Stern saved my ass when I was down on my luck.

You sounded great on his show recently, as well. I’ve never heard Robin grilled quite like that before about her private life.
Scott Greenstein, our boss, took me aside and said, “Man, when you and Howard get on somebody, the one–two combination, that’s second to none.” Scott alluded to wanting to bring me in on some tough guests and having me and Howard just grilling them. Howard’s a different interviewer than I am. Howard’s more seasoned and a little bit more intellectual. I tend to be a little bit more barbaric and socially unacceptable, but together, actually, in my opinion, Sirius is missing the boat on having a Howard/Bubba grill session.

Tell us more about the Cox radio deal. It’s been four years since you’ve been on terrestrial radio.
One of the reasons why I’m coming back is because nobody thinks I can do it, and it’s just a huge, huge challenge. I’m one of the dirtiest and most fined radio personalities ever, next to Howard, so it would be unheard of for anybody to take the chance on me to come back. I’ve got a huge target on my back. When I pull this off and I’m able to do it, and not get fined, not get fired, then I’ll become a commodity on terrestrial radio. The syndication possibilities could be endless. Terrestrial radio is just lookin’ for anybody that’s not corny and stupid like Bob & Tom or John Boy & Billy, the hopeless shit that people are putting on nowadays. Opie & Anthony aren’t lighting the world on fire, Mancow isn’t either. Nobody’s really doing anything. After Howard left regular radio, there’s not been anybody to step up and garner 40 or 50 affiliates in huge markets with success. Nobody’s doing it, so what better person to try than me. In one year I’m available to be able to roll this out nationwide. I would love Dan Mason to call me up!

How would the show be different from your afternoon Sirius show, aside from the obvious restrictions on language and content?
We’ll be local. We’ll be in Tampa and Jacksonville just to start. But we’re going to still be cynical and smart-ass and put a Bubba spin on everyday problems and politicians. As long as we continue to have buffoons in the White House it makes for some great rhetoric. The only thing that’s not going to be there is the flat-out, blatant sex and some of the stunts that we do that involve sex. There are a lot of things we can do. We’re just going to have to plan out a little bit better, and not quite be so spontaneous on the shock things. Just cover our asses a little bit better.

Attention All Stern Show/SFN VIP'S.

It's time for all of us to boycott this hell known as SFN (Sternfannetwork). I'm calling for this boycott of all us VIP's because of the fact that we take way to many verbal beatings on this shit-hole site. Look there have even been members that have lost their accounts for sticking up for some of us. That's fucking unfair as hell to them. We need to take a stand against this site, and the shit that goes on here. There are mods on here that won't kill a members account for talking shit about one of us just because that member is a good friend of their's. That's not right at all. Sure there have been a lot of people that have lost their accounts due what they've said to us VIP's, but at the same time there is still too many shit-heads on here on our asses on a daily basis. Enough is enough time for a huge change. It's time for the creator of this hell hole to step the fuck up, and does his fucking job to enforce the damn rules that he set for this site to began with. He needs stop playing favorites with us VIP's, and start killing the accounts of every asshole on here bashing any of us, not just a select number of us.

Besides Stern, and the staff we are the big factor of the show. Besides the air on crew, and the behind the scenes people that make possible for to hear the show live Monday to Thursday we are the other reason why that show is on. We either entertain the listeners with our calls or by one or more of us going into the studio to be on the show. A lot of us have revealed some personal shit on air that we should have kept to ourselves, but we let the listeners hear what we should have kept hidden. All it did is fuel to the assholes on here to use against us to make fun of us on a daily basis. I mean even Stern's soon to be wife Beth O. gets shit of from people on here. We as VIP's need finally say Mutt we've had it with this disrespectful place. It's time Mutt to clean up this place once and for all. It's time to take all the asshole worthless posters that do nothing but make it hell to be apart this site, because they're a bunch no life having brainless asshole.

The abuse has got end here, & now. I'm sure all of VIP's have a list of assholes on here that we wouldn't miss from this site. Hell some of us might even have some of the some assholes on our lists. Of course I know we all also have a list of members that we enjoy on here. Looks like Shrine 100 news has been pranked. It happens. That pic was not taken after the Letterman show as reported but a pic from a couple of Months back from The Springsteen concert that the Super fan Funt photoshopped.

Letterman Attacks Leno With Writers, Howard Stern by Michael Learmonth

David Letterman is the only big late night host with professional writers. But it hasn't mattered in the ratings much: NBC's Jay Leno, writers or no writers, is still No.1 by a long shot.


Can Howard Stern help? Letterman has booked Stern, one of his biggest ratings draws for Thursday night's show. Stern and Letterman have a long relationship, and Stern appeared on Letterman the night he left CBS Radio for his mega-deal with Sirius Satellite Radio. Thursday will be his 18th appearance on the "The Late Show."

Now he returns to help breathe some life in Letterman's show, which returned to season-high numbers last week, thanks to plenty of viewer curiosity, but still hasn't made ratings inroads against Leno. In his first five days back, Leno trounced Letterman — like he always did before the writers strike began.

According to preliminary numbers, Letterman won Monday night — when he shaved his strike beard and had Tom Hanks as a guest. But even Hanks suggested Letterman wasn't doing enough with his writers: "I thought shaving your strike beard is what you do when you don't have writers."

Interview with Mel Karmazin

7:34 pm: First audience question: The talent deals have been generous. Is there an opportunity to revisit those deals?
K: "I think we are smarter today. When some of these deals were done Sirius didn't have any subscribers. The earlier deals were done without much knowledge about what listeners want. When the next cycle comes we will know more."
"What is going to make us a winner is that we have the best radio on radio. I am betting that radio is going to continue to be a business. We are going to be a successful radio company and our content is going to drive it. The Howard Stern deal--and I didn't do it, I walked into the company after it was done--I will tell you it more than pays for itself."

7:40 pm: Assuming there is no merger, at what point do you have four straight quarters of positive cash flow?
K: "Because of the merger we have not provided guidance. I think I have given some hints. We have a great deal of leverage in our business. Take the top line revenue growing at double digits. Each year you will see we will come closer and closer to free cash flow positive. Our sub acquisition costs are going down. I came to this business to make it profitable, not to spend money on content."

7:45 pm: With the improvement of in-car technology you will face competition from HD radio , iPods and Internet radio. How do you keep competitive?
K: "Can I take your question to the DOJ? The time people spend listening to the radio is in the car. They thought cell phones would compete with car radio, and 8-track tapes. I think it comes down to the content. if you take look at our content--there is nothing on the Internet or on terrestrial radio that would compare."

7: 50 pm: A question about satellite radio royalties. Karmazin says satellite radio got off a lot easier than most had expected. He says don't expect Congress to support royalties for terrestrial radio (as the music labels and the RIAA want) because it would be terribly unpopular in an election year.

7:54 pm: The interview wraps. Few crowd questions and very general queries from the Citi moderator. Karmazin basically gave his sales pitch. That's his strong suit, but we've heard it already.

So I get on the bus, and the first person I see is Crazy Alice!! I told her I am a big fan of the show, and we started talking. Luckily, I had my camera with me, because I was going to take some pics of stuff at my office to sell online. She was great, and typical Alice, yelling out "Gay Howard, Lesbian Robin and FAG!!" in front of a crowded bus. I was great to hang out with her, for about 15 minutes and we exchanged email addresses.

After I started talking to her, the bus driver piped up that he was a big fan as well, who apparently had never recognized her, even though she rides his bus everyday. I took a photo for him with her, who kept saying that his brother would never believe it, as if Crazy Alice was like Jessica Alba or something...

In one of the pics, you can see a booklet of Burger King coupons, which fell out of her purse as she was getting a pen so we could exchange email addresses.

In the first video clip, She told me that she wanted to send a message to Artie,
and in the second, she just starts giving me her opinion about Scott and his dog.

In the 3rd, I ask her if she wants to say something to SFN...You have to watch to hear what she says....

Is this Howard 100 news worthy? Should I give them a call? Either way she was very nice and I was glad to meet her.
